Who We Are

Our Story

Amplifying Africa’s Voices

Voice Actors League was not always a continent-wide movement. We started as a homegrown dream in Kenya, fuelled by passionate members and founders. As the dream grew, so did our reach, attracting talent from across Africa.

Today, we are a vibrant community of voice actors from across Africa, united by a common goal:

Master our craft with discipline and excellence
Compete confidently on the global stage

Our Vision

A Thriving African Voice Acting Ecosystem Without Limits

We envision a thriving African voice acting ecosystem where our members are empowered to build global careers and live on their own terms.

We see African voices featured in global campaigns, animation, film, gaming, and streaming platforms, using their God-given voices to create wealth, opportunity, and impact.

Our Mission

Educating, Equipping, & Connecting Africa’s Voice Talent

VALA educates, equips, and connects African voice-over professionals with the knowledge, skills, and global networks they need to excel in the international industry and build sustainable livelihoods.

We help them break free from the rat race so they can make money with their voice and become self-sufficient.

Our Core Values

The Principles That Guide Everything We Do

These values guide how we lead, teach, collaborate, and build opportunities across the VALA community every day.

1
Excellence in Craft & Business

We deliver first-rate training in voice acting technique through workshops, mentorship programs, and industry-led sessions, and equip our members with business acumen so they excel both creatively and commercially.

2
Empowerment through Knowledge

We believe that knowledge of the industry, including marketing, negotiation, rates, and self-branding, is as vital as voice over skill. Our members gain that power and agency.

3
Global Networking & Opportunity

We facilitate connections locally and abroad with producers, agents, and global platforms, fostering partnerships, collaborative projects, and international placements that open pathways beyond borders.

4
Financial Independence & Dignity

We encourage and support our members to build viable careers so they are not just earning but thriving, living on their own terms and leveraging their voice as a tool of income and influence.

5
Cultural Diversity

We honour Africa’s linguistic and regional richness. We champion voice talent across East, West, Central, North, and Southern Africa, including the diaspora, asserting African voices on the global stage.

6
Integrity & Community

We uphold transparency, fair practice, and mutual support. Our alumni give back, our mentors lead with care, and our community helps each other grow.
